Aimee’s Strawberry/Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Suffering from Fibromyalgia is hard and it messes with your digestive system.  When you have to change the way you eat sometimes it can be overwhelming.  I have been experimenting with smoothies the past few weeks and wanted to share one with you that is super easy and healthy for you.

Here are additional ingredients that I use in my smoothies along with the fruits:

Green Tea from The Republic of Tea  I make a pitcher at the beginning of the week and keep in the fridge.

Jay Robb vanilla whey protein.

Spectrum Ground Flaxseed Powder.  I purchase mine from Amazon.

Spectrum Ground Chia Seed Powder.  I purchase mine from Amazon.

Recipe:

I use a Ninja blender for my smoothies but any blender will do.

Ingredients:

1-2 cups green tea

1 – 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries (non-sweet)

1 ripe banana

1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein

1 tbsp flaxseed powder

1 tbsp ground chia powder

3 tbsp nonfat plain yogurt

Directions:

  1. Add the green tea to the blender.  I start out with a 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups and add if I need to help make it a bit thinner.
  2. Add whey protein powder, flaxseed powder, and chia powder.
  3. Add frozen strawberries.
  4. Add yogurt.
  5. Add banana.

Blend ingredients together.  My blender has a smoothie option so I just hit that and let it go.
